A child's job is to play, and they learn best while playing. I love to get down and play with them and learn from them as well. Over the past 15 or so years, I have had the pleasure of encouraging children in all areas of their development, such as learning how to do new things, building new skills and giving children with special challenges the support they need to accomplish all that they can. I received my Bachelors of Science in Child Development and obtained my Master's Degree in Special Education Preschool Special Needs. I have a school-aged daughter of my own and am also a step-parent to a young adult son. I currently reside in White Sulphur Springs, but grew up in Pocahontas County. I look forward to meeting you and your child and providing you with "all the support possible".

I have worked with children and their families for 14 years in the Birth to Three Program. Originally, I worked with children 18 months to 5 years in a Preschool setting and then began to provide home-based services for children 0-3 and their families. As a home based developmental specialist, I have a strong understanding of a family's routines and needs. I have provided families with support, information, skills, and tools that have assisted them in helping their child grow and develop. I have 14 years experience and training specific to child development including children with medical problems, speech/language delays, feeding and nutrition, premature infants, motor delays, behavioral concerns and transitioning from the area or into the school system. With my love of children, experience and training, I have the qualifications to provide your child and family with quality developmental services. I look forward to working with you.

I feel the most important thing when working with or teaching children is that they know, without a doubt; that you care about them and that you want them to succeed in their learning experiences. I have been a teacher for 22 years; 10 years in Head Start/Preschool Special Needs. The Preschool curriculum is family oriented and allows me the opportunity to coordinate learning and learning outcomes with parents and other school personnel. I am a parent and grandparent myself. I have 3 children, ages 26, 18 and 15. I also have a 1 year old granddaughter. I believe one of the keys to academic and social growth begins with positive self-image and must begin in the early stages of a child's development. I look forward to working with you and your family.
